• Early Literacy Workshop: Offered Monday mornings 9:00-11:45 throughout the summer. Drop-in rate is $165

This specialty workshop includes a mini assessment followed by targeted activities to support literacy development through activities both at the table and in the sensory gym. Activities will address early literacy skills such as letter recognition, handwriting, phonemic awareness, sentence and paragraph building, sequencing, and more! This workshop will be led by Stacey Lennon, COTA, who is pursuing her Masters in Reading and Literacy. Designed for ages 4-7

• Breakfast Club for Picky Feeders: Offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings 8:00am throughout the summer. Drop-in rate is $55. Discounts applied when you register for multiple classes.

Oftentimes children with sensory processing issues will also have difficulty sustaining nutrition. The sensitivity to textures, tastes and smells can not only interfere with the child’s enjoyment of mealtime but even their ability to thrive. This class addresses sensory sensitivities through tactile and olfactory play as well as a structured step by step approach to expand the child’s dietary choices. Peer engagement is a powerful modality to support the child’s willingness to take interest in new foods in a safe manner. When sensory sensitivities are addressed, Children will experience the pleasure of sitting down with the family at mealtime and will be more willing to try new foods. Good nutritional intake supports learning and a sense of well-being. Designed for ages 4-7

• Crafts for Fine Motor and Praxis: Offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings 9:00am throughout the summer. Drop-in rate is $55. Discounts applied when you register for multiple classes.

This course is designed to promote time management and other executive functioning skills as well as fine motor development. Participants will engage in various crafts and projects while working on time management, making a plan and seeing it through, and working with others. Designed for ages 4-7.

• Ninja Warrior for Gross Motor and Praxis: Offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings 10:00am throughout the summer. Drop-in rate is $55. Discounts applied when you register for multiple classes.

This group is designed to strengthen bilateral coordination and motor sequencing skills. Participants will enjoy tackling “ninja warrior” courses involving swinging from one surface to another, scaling foam equipment, and other obstacle challenges in the sensory integrative gym. Core and upper extremity strength will also be targeted by this course.  This course also supports handwriting by developing scapular stability and hand strength. Designed for ages 4-7.

• Handwriting Skills Development: Offered Tuesday and Thursday mornings 11:00am throughout the summer. Drop-in rate is $55. Discounts applied when you register for multiple classes.

Handwriting without tears curriculum will be used in conjunction with activities and exercises to improve core strength, dynamic control, proper grip, proper letter formation, spatial awareness, and proprioception. Preparation for writing activities will include sensory strategies for ultimate success. Handwriting challenges are the number one reason school aged children are referred to occupational therapists. As the underlying impairments to good writing are addressed, the child builds momentum on their success. Designed for ages 4-7.
